During this year we have seen the departure of Fr Mike Walsh, who devotedly served the parish from Sept 2016 until May of this Year. In May, Fr Maurice Pearce became our new shepherd and with the gentle guiding assistance of the Parish Finance Committee, and a number of willing and able parishioners, the transition appeared seamless. The willing and able included, servers, flower arrangers, cleaners, Alb and vestment washers and ironers, communicants, graveyard and garden grass cutters, bell ringers, readers, penny and pound collectors, counters and bankers, bakers, raffle and gala fund raising organisers, an organist and more, all of whom have helped make this church run smoothly. To all of these, and you know who you are, we owe a big thank you.
Though during the last few weeks Fr Maurice has been recuperating, in the Pateley presbytery, after an operation, in his stead we have been kindly assisted by locum priests. Again, many thanks for kindly stepping into the breach. Hopefully with your usual effort and a few prayers 2020 will run smoothly.
